Cancer Relief UK was set up to assist cancer sufferers in the UK who experience financial hardship during their illness. We also wanted to provide funding for things like wheelchairs, morphine pumps etc, as well as contributing towards the cost of a family treat for some well deserved rest and relaxation together. As well as this type of grant we have also made large contributions to appeals for LIFE SAVING PROTON THERAPY when our finances have allowed. These include donating £25,000 to Josh Hill (13) of Nottinghamshire towards his appeal of £130,000 for him to receive treatment in America for prostate cancer.

Cancer Relief UK have raised funds and donated to various children needing urgent PROTON THERAPY, Ashya King being the most recent, and to Sarah Hargreaves from Derbyshire who needed urgent CyberKnife treatment for a brain tumour.

Cancer Relief has and can set up appeals for emergency treatment or a well deserved break or last wish, as we did with Chloe Parkes who realised her dream and got to swim with Dolphins and meet Mickey Mouse in Florida when her appeal goal was reached.

But our main aim is to be there for families needing direct help with utility bills, travel costs for treatment or a family treat to forget about their cancer and be a family for a while. To date we have assisted hundreds of unfortunate people who have the battle with their cancer to cope with without worrying where the next penny is coming from. AND A GRANT FROM OURSELVES REALLY DOES EASE THE PRESSURE at such a desperate time. To enable us to continue this work we rely on donations, public fundraising and legacies, so please keep us in mind whenever possible.

We donated £10,000 to Brandon Bell (12) from Scotland who needed urgent PROTON THERAPY in Florida for a brain tumour. £10,000 was donated to Sarah Hargreaves from Derbyshire who needed this figure to pay for CyberKnife treatment for a brain tumour.
