We just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who attended and supported our recent “Snooker with the stars” event and helping us to raise funds and awareness for our charity.
The event went ahead on Tuesday 3rd May at Matlock Golf Club, who hosted our event. Attendees watched frames played by Ken Doherty, while John Virgo gave a very amusing running commentary with funny stories and anecdotes.
A raffle was held, which consisted of a year’s free membership to Chesterfield Snooker Club donated by Sean Lennon, a signed cue ball by Ronnie Sullivan, tickets to 7 times world champion Steven Hendrie exhibition, a Ronnie O’Sullivan signed cue ball, a cue and case signed by both John and Ken and a meal for two with wine donated by The New Bath Hotel.
We also held an auction for a signed program from the recent World Snooker Championships at the Crucible Theatre Sheffield, signed by 7 world champions.
Everyone had a fantastic night, feedback has been extremely good, and Steve from Cancer Relief UK said that is something that they will try again in the future.
Our next fundraiser is on the 19th May and is a Golf Day, again held at Matlock Golf Club; we are still looking for teams to come along and join in the day, so why not get a team together and some along and join us
